The Fresh Looks Festival is BACK for a THIRD year!
Are you a writer? Do you have a script for a play or musical you’d love to hear actors read aloud, in a theater, with a little lighting, and guidance from a director? Well we have the event for you!
Submit your script to Fresh Looks! 8 scripts will be chosen to receive a staged reading in The Storyteller Theater, a new venue in Aurora.
Scripts must be submitted between June 30th and August 15th 2026
Script must be complete, but first drafts are accepted
Scripts must be full length shows, at least one act
Musicals submitted must have completed sheet music for at least 75% of songs at the time of submission
Scripts must be new and not previously produced (previous staged readings are accepted)
This entire festival is a volunteer effort, from directors to actors, so unfortunately there is no pay available. This festival is designed to get writers a chance to see what their script sounds like, get feedback from other artists, and see their show performed in front of an audience!
As a special bonus — the script whose performance has the highest attendance will receive 50% of their ticket sales as a little seed money to keep going!
